Well, well, well, coming back from vacation without any hiccups? Color me impressed! And while New York may not be cooling down yet, I can feel a tingle. Pumpkin spice season is almost upon us. Brace yourselves!
I wrote about AI prompting last week; if you missed that, here you go.
👋🏻 A big, warm welcome to all the new subscribers. It's great to be back and chatting with you all again. The feedback has been fantastic, and I'm excited to dive into Parkinson's Law with you. Let's bring on the brain teasers! 🧠
Let’s Dig In ⛏️
Parkinson's Law is like a rule that says, "Work takes as long as you give it time." For example, if you give yourself a whole day to clean a fish tank, you might take all day even if it doesn't need that long. This happens with tasks, too.
Have you ever observed how you power through tasks just days before a break? Yet, once you're back, sometimes a whole day slips by on a single chore.
To manage time better, here are some tips:
Set Real Deadlines: Give tasks specific due dates, not too much time, or they'll drag on.
Break Tasks Down: Make big tasks into smaller parts to finish faster and feel accomplished.
Plan Time Blocks: Set aside specific times for tasks to stay focused and efficient.
Do Important Things First: Start with the most important tasks so they don't get lost in the shuffle.
Try the Pomodoro Technique: Work intensely for 25 minutes, then take a short break. It helps you stay on track. There are tools for this; here’s a good one.

Craft 📖
Craft.do is an app designed to help users organize their thoughts, ideas, and tasks visually and collaboratively. It offers a platform for creating documents that combine text, images, and various media types in a flexible and interactive format. I use this to take notes all day, store information for later, and a lot more.
The end all be all of task managers, IMO. Whether you need to plan a kid’s birthday party or run a department for a large company, this is the best one. I’ve been using OF for over a decade, and I’m not stopping.
This application is designed to boost efficiency by allowing users to create and manage text snippets or shortcuts that automatically expand into more extended pieces of text, saving time and keystrokes. It's beneficial for frequently used phrases, email templates, code snippets, and more.
